Just a reminder that there is a J.C. Meeting scheduled for this Thursday evening, March 19th, at 6:30 pm here at ALAA HQ.  As always, pizza and soda will be served.  We have a lot to update you on and discuss, so please be on time!

The following is a working agenda for the meeting:

1) State Issues

a) status of budget

b) possibility of state criminal case caps for NYC

c) loan forgiveness

2) City Issues

a) what we have done so far in preparation for May-June budget process

i) Fire & Criminal Justice Services Committee

1) oversees our funding issues – new chairman Jimmy Vacca (Bronx)

a) budget hearing on criminal funding scheduled for Friday, March 20th at 10 am

b) Intro. No. 820 – Criminal Case Cap Bill

i)  We now have 23 sponsors

ii)  Committee hearing on the bill has been confirmed for Tuesday, April 7th at 10 am

1) steps of City Hall already reserved for 1-2 pm on April 7th for rally/press event

2) plans for April 7th

3) Update on E-mail Grievance

a) what has happened thus far

i) help we have received from UAW Detroit General counsel Catherine Trafton

b) next steps

i) do we arbitrate?

4) ALAA Office Search Update

LIRR Directions
Get out at St. Albans LIRR stop and walk to nearest street (Linden Blvd.). Then take the Q4 bus down Linden Blvd to church (where Linden Blvd. intersects 172nd Street). Around 15 blocks. Meeting address is 172-17 Linden Blvd.  Or take a car service (plentiful).
