Subject: On MLK Day – 1199 Rally for Justice for Home Health Care Aides!
Union sisters and brothers, since we all have the day off next Monday, what better way to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. than at a rally for justice for some of New York’s lowest-wage workers. Dr. King was gunned down while in Memphis supporting a sanitation workers strike, a union that was also predominately people of color living on poverty wages. Huge gains have been made since King’s time in the area of civil rights. But the fight for a living wage for all workers continues today.
What: Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. March & Rally for Justice for Home Health Aides
When: Monday, Jan 16, 9 am
Where: 110th Street @ Central Park West (1, 2, 3, B or C to 110th)
