Open Letter from Jewish Officers and Members in Support of Divestment (UAW Local 2865)
An injustice anywhere is an injustice everywhere and none of us is free
until all of us are free. As Jews, we understand from our own experiences
with discrimination and our own history of resistance to oppression that
standing on the right side of history necessitates standing in solidarity
with Palestinians. For that reason, we are proud to be counted among the
growing number of Jews and trade unionists around the the world who refuse
to turn a blind eye to this issue.

Sign: We demand corrective action on the scandalous firing of
Palestinian-American professor, Dr. Steven Salaita (10k+ signers)
The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has just severed their
contract of employment with the brilliant, ethical, and prolific Dr.
Steven Salaita for his political views on Israel, effectively firing him
the very month he was to take up a tenured position there.
