Thanks for attending the first LAS Organizing Meeting for STOP Stop & Frisk on January 10, 2012.

Attached is a copy of the agenda and minutes for the meeting we had on 1/10/12, and the handouts that were distributed for those who attended and for those who have expressed interest in becoming involved but could not attend.  Sorry for the delay in getting these out to everyone.

We originally had set March 8th as our next meeting date, however, we have to reschedule to Thursday, March 15, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. (location to be announced)

As you all are probably well aware, a lot is going on in the community and with the STOP Stop & Frisk movement.

UPDATES since January 10th meeting

–ALAA Executive Board voted to support LAS STOP Stop & Frisk Campaign and to fund ALAA legal observer hats at its January 10, 2012 executive board meeting

–Email from Steve to ALAA re. public housing trespass cases & Stop & Frisk policy (attached)

–New website launched for STOP Stop & Frisk Campaign     Check it out!!

–STOP Stop & Frisk Campaign organizing protest rallies and civil disobedience in support of  family & community against NYPD brutal beating of Jatiek Reed and murder of  Rahmarley Graham. Actions planned email forthcoming


2/14 at  Bronx Criminal Court: 265 E. 161st Street  for one activist

2/15 at  Manhattan Criminal Court: 346 Broadway for one activist

2/16 at Manhattan Criminal Court: 100 Centre Street  for all of the rest of the Manh. activists

2/24 at Queens Criminal Court: 125-01 Queens Blvd.  (all activists)

2/24, 2/27 and 3/9  at Brooklyn Criminal Court: 120 Schermerhorn Street

4/13  at Bronx Criminal Court: 265 E. 161st Street for one activist

(Reminder a lot of the activists have committed civil disobedience in more than one county)

We will send out the agenda for our next meeting in advance of March 15th.
