Subject: May 10: Stop Islamophobia and racism in Brooklyn

This is a call to action for all-out support on Tuesday, May 10th for the Muslim American Society (MAS), which is attempting to build a new mosque in Sheepshead Bay, and their attorney, NYC National Lawyers Guild Executive Committee member and Al-Awda NY organizer Lamis Deek.

Both the MAS and Ms. Deek personally have come under vicious, racist attack by right-wing extremists, who have brought suit in Kings County Supreme Court to enjoin construction of the mosque.

Some additional background information can be found here: http://www.stopislamophobia.org/?p=465

On May 10th at 9:30am, there will be oral arguments on the MAS motion to dismiss, counterclaims, and sanctions against the racist “Bay People” organization plaintiffs.

The location is Kings County Supreme Court, 360 Adams Street, Motion Trial Term 43 (Room 776) in Brooklyn. Transportation: Subway: R to Court St.; 2, 3, 4, 5 to Boro Hall; A, C, F to Jay St./Boro Hall.

We anticipate that there will be a large right-wing rally outside of the courthouse that we must mobilize massive numbers of people to counteract.
