Subject: URGENT: support the revolution in Egypt TONIGHT 5:30pm UNION SQ

From an Egyptian activist friend of mine:

Dear friends, supporters of the Egyptian Revolution.

Existence is Resistance ( A Palestine Solidarity Group) had called
yesterday for a demonstration at Union Square today at 5:30 PM to
support the democracy movement in Egypt. The situation has changed
rapidly as Mubarak’s thugs (under the yes of the military which
supports his regime) have violently attacked Tahrir Square protesters
with hundreds of injuries reported by Al Jazeera.

Therefore, I hope that all organizations and individuals who are on
the side of the Egyptian protesters and want to see this revolution
victorious will attend and in numbers.

1- As the internet is reportedly back in Egypt our solidarity and news
of it will be a tremendous source of moral and political support to
the protesters.
2- We could also organize a mass calling operation to the White House
to demand Obama end his support for Mubarak.
3- The State department has offices on Varick Street nearby. We could
discuss and vote on a peaceful march on their office to demand that
they condemn the attack by Mubarak’s thugs on the Democracy movement.

I send this email in my personal capacity as an Egyptian and an
activist. And I hope as many groups and individuals unite tonight to
send a clear and loud message of solidarity

Mostafa Omar
