You have every right to support whomever you want. However, please [C.] do not distort history as James so glibly does.
I have been an active participant in this union for the last 20 years: as a delegate; co-founder of the city-wide ACLA Caucus; and city-wide elected member of the EB (ACLA representative and Senior Attorney representative).
When I first began working at LAS in 1987, I was part of a group of second time Bar takers who challenged LAS way of dealing with them. We effectively changed LAS policy and got some concrete assistance for everyone in that situation — from all divisions.
I have also supported and spoken out about issues throughout the years affecting JRD, Civil, CLO, Senior Attorneys, Attorneys of Color, etc.
So it’s unfair to say that I have never addressed any issues citywide. Of course, Jim got to know JRD’s issues better during his presidency. He was after all president. Prior to his becoming president, Rogers played no “citywide” role in ALAA, other than to denounce the leadership.
I understand that you support Debbie. But don’t do it by distorting reality and history. Thanks.
